"I have been a State Farm customer and recently received notice that the annual premium for my commercial auto policy is increasing from approximately $1,439.52 to $2,536, an increase of about 76%.

I have no accidents or at-fault claims that would explain such a dramatic increase. In fact, my 2002 Chevrolet truck has been driven very little over the past two years because business has been extremely slow.

I called the office looking for a clear explanation and spoke with Gaby. Unfortunately, the only explanation I received was that “everything is going up.” I understand that insurance rates can increase, but when a customer’s premium goes up by more than $1,000 a year, I believe they deserve a specific and meaningful explanation.

What concerns me even more is that my previous policy is being replaced with a new Business Car Policy and a new policy number, yet no one took the time to clearly explain whether this change contributed to the enormous premium increase.

I have now requested a complete written review of my policy, including the mileage, vehicle usage, drivers, discounts, rating factors, and coverages being used to calculate my premium.

After paying for insurance year after year and maintaining a clean driving record, I expected better communication and customer service. I am giving one star based on my experience so far. If State Farm reviews my policy, provides a reasonable explanation, and corrects any errors that may exist, I will gladly update my review to reflect how the situation was handled."
